Important Message Concerning Donations
Hope For Haiti Education Scholarships and Food Donations Status Clarification 

It has been brought to our attention that some members of St. Columba Parish have raised questions about how funds 
have continued to be sent to Haiti, and whether our schools have continued to be open because of the violence and social, political, and economic disruptions in Haiti.

We can assure everyone that funds for our Scholarships and Food For Lunch program are sent securely via internet.  
Our schools have been able to remain open because Pastor Fr. Laguerre has made an agreement with local gangs in 
the area of our schools, that the education of the children should not be disrupted.  
This PEACE, together with the incentive of hot lunches that HHE has helped to fund, have kept the schools open and 
children in school, even when most schools in Port-Au-Prince have been closed.  If you have questions, please speak 
to an HHE Ministry member.

NOTE: All our historic donors are expected to continue donating for our “scholarships”. 

 A donation of $34.00 will provide lunch for one child for two weeks per month of the school year. 
 The price for lunch every week all year would be $64.00 per child. 

Our work in Haiti has already made a significant impact on the lives of these children, but we believe that there 
is so much more we can do to support them. Our current goal is to raise $10,000 to provide lunch for 310 children 
for two weeks per month for one school year. This seemingly simple act of providing a meal holds immense significance 
in the lives of these young ones. 
 In Haiti, many children face hunger and malnutrition daily. By supplying them with a nutritious lunch, we can 
ensure that they have the energy and focus they need to thrive in school. Proper nutrition not only supports their 
physical well-being but also enhances their ability to learn, grow, and break free from the cycle of poverty. 
 
Any generous donation will help us reach our goal of providing lunch to 310 children, giving them a chance 
at a brighter future
